PropertyGuru bags SVCA Best Performing Company 2010 Award

Singapore's leading property portal named Best Performing VC / PE-Backed Company

PropertyGuru Group, the company behind the country's number one property website, www.PropertyGuru.com.sg, has made headlines again by winning the award for Best Performing VC / PE-Backed Company, at the inaugural annual 2010 SVCA Awards. This accolade comes less than a week after picking up the Singapore Infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF) award for Best E-Enterprise Company for 2010.

Only two awards were given out at a Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony held at Shangri-la Hotel, including the “Best Performing VC / PE backed company” and “Best Exit realized”.

Organised by Singapore Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (SVCA), the awards recognise Singapore venture capital and private equity back firms and their investors for outstanding business performance, effective use of funds, increase in shareholder value and the role of investors in adding value to the business.

PropertyGuru Group was singled out for the stellar business performance over the last three years, effective use of funds and the active role of its investors, Upstream Ventures and Tigris Capital, in adding value to the business.

All entries underwent two main stages of assessment, including nominations from SVCA members and associates and two rounds of presentations and judging by an independent panel of judges.

The team of expert judges were made up of industry venture capitalists and private equity veterans, such as members of the SVCA “Hall of Fame” like Mr. Timothy Chia (Chairman Asia for UBS Investment Bank and Chairman, Hup Soon Global Corporation) and Mr. Anil Thadani (Chairman of Symphony Asia Holdings and a private equity investor since 1981).

About Singapore Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (SVCA):
