Tanglin itself is a fairly compact area, which makes getting around it easier than you would have thought, given its geography, the presence of the gardens, and the perceived lack of MRT stations. Starting with the rail network, presently there is Stevens on the Downtown Line and Botanic Gardens station on the Downtown and Circle Lines. Napier station will bring extra connectivity to the area in 2021 with the Thomson Line.

Orchard Road leads off from Tanglin’s eastern boundary, and the trunk roads of Holland Road, Stevens Road and Tanglin Road dissect the region, and give access to several bus services. Bukit Timah Road is on its northernmost boundary and the PIE is a very short drive from there.
Tanglin is an area that is designed for walking around. Its leafy, shady streets are some of the most pleasant to stroll along in the island. There is also of course the small matter of the Botanic Gardens.
