The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) will organize two public forums in May to gather feedback for the upcoming Concept Plan 2011.
Earlier, URA formed two focus groups to consider issues that will shape the environment of Singapore in the coming years. The focus groups have met over the past four months to discuss issues on identity, sustainability, ageing and quality of life.
The groups will seek feedback from the public by sharing their preliminary recommendations for Concept Plan 2011 during forums.
The first forum, which will discuss Sustainability and Identity, will be held on May 6 at 6pm. Mr. Lee Tzu Yang, chairman of Shell Companies in the country, and Mr. Ong Keng Yong, director of Institute of Policy Studies, will co-chair the session.
On May 10, National Arts Council Chairman Edmund Cheng and National University of Singapore President Tan Chorh Chuan will lead the second forum, which will discuss Quality of Life and Ageing Issues.
The focus groups will submit their final recommendations to URA after reviewing the feedback received during the forums.
URA will then make a draft Concept Plan after considering the views from the focus groups and the public. It will enable the public to give their feedback on the draft Concept Plan next year.
