URA chief appointed as new HDB head

Cheong Koon Hean, who is the current CEO of the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), will become the new CEO of HDB starting in August.

She will relinquish her current appointment in the URA but will continue her special tasks at the Ministry of National Development (MND) as a Deputy Secretary, with the responsibility of overseeing land reclamation issues.

Tay Kim Poh, the current HDB CEO, will be appointed as Deputy Secretary (Development) at MND. He will replace Mr. Tay Lim Heng, who had left MND to pursue other interests.

Mr. Ng Lang, the current CEO of the National Parks Board, NParks, will become the new CEO of URA. He will be replaced by Mr. Poon Hong Yuen, currently director of (Economic Programmes/International Relations) at the Finance Ministry, who will be appointed as CEO of NParks.
