Keppel Land tops-out Ocean Financial Centre

8 Jul 2010

Keppel Land Limited has topped-out its latest development – Ocean Financial Centre – further strengthening its position as the leading developer of international-grade commercial offices.

The topping-out for Ocean Financial Centre was commemorated by Ms. Grace Fu, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of National Development, at a special ceremony attended by 150 guests from the business community, key government agencies and leading financial institutions, as well as senior management from Keppel.

Mr. Choo Chiau Beng, chairman of Keppel Land and CEO of Keppel Corporation, announced its agreements with two major financial institutions – BNP Paribas Singapore (BNP Paribas) and Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ) – both of which have plans to lease around 58,000 sq ft and 209,000 sq ft of prime office space at the building, respectively.

With the addition of these two companies in its line-up of tenants, Ocean Financial Centre is now around 63 percent pre-committed ahead of its completion in Q2 2011.

“The strong pre-commitment levels reinforce the positive sentiments in the office market on the back of a brighter economic outlook. Keppel Land, as a major landlord of prime Grade A office developments in the Raffles Place and Marina Bay precincts, is well-poised to benefit from this upturn,” said Mr. Choo.

When completed, Ocean Financial Centre will be among the largest office developments in Raffles Place, which will provide around 850,000 sq ft of column-free Grade A office space with state-of-the-art environmentally responsible features, as well as premium finishings and fittings.

Ocean Financial Centre is also the first high-rise office development in the country to receive BCA’s Platinum Green Mark Award – the highest Green Mark honour awarded to an environmentally friendly building. It is also the first high-rise office development in Southeast Asia to achieve the Level LEED-CS pre-certification under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System.

“Keppel Land is privileged to continually contribute to defining Singapore’s cityscape with distinctive landmarks that set quality benchmarks. We are also committed to play our part in our nation’s growth into Asia’s major business and financial centre by providing investment-grade offices that bear the Keppel quality hallmark,” said Mr. Choo.
