ANZ has announced its intention to transfer its Singapore head office from One Raffles Place to the Ocean Financial Centre at Collyer Quay, in the second half of this year.
“Moving to a world-class building reflects ANZ’s commitment to both Singapore and to the South and South East Asian region. We intend to sign a multi-year lease,” said Mr. Mark Robinson, CEO of ANZ for South and South East Asia.
“We will take up nine floors in the Ocean Financial Centre, and they will be designed to create greater collaboration, flexibility, and superior work facilities for staff,” added Mr. Robinson.
Ocean Financial Centre, which is being developed by Keppel Land, is the first office development in the CBD to receive the environmental Platinum Green Mark from Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority (BCA). The 43-storey building, which is set for completion in 2011, will feature the largest solar panel system for high rise buildings in the country, an energy hybrid chilled water system, and other environmentally sustainable design features.
Mr. Bill Foo, CEO of ANZ Singapore and Vice Chairman for South and South East Asia, said: “ANZ has operated in Singapore for more than 35 years and for the first 25 years our offices were at the former ‘Ocean Building’ in Collyer Quay, so it is fitting that ANZ will move to this fantastic new building on the same site.”
“As well as ongoing commitment to Singapore, the development reflects ANZ’s determination to reduce its environmental impact. This is reflected in our other buildings, including our global headquarters in Melbourne, ANZ Centre, which is one of the world’s most environmentally progressive workplaces in the financial sector,” he added.
ANZ, which started operations in Singapore in 1974, offers wealth, retail, institutional, commercial and private banking services. It has five retail branches and one private banking suite in the country.
