Final call for entries to MIPIM Asia Awards 2010

23 Jul 2010

MIPIM Asia has announced the final call for entries to the MIPIM Asia Awards 2010, with the deadline for submission set at August 6.

Launched in 2007, the MIPIM Asia Awards is now in its fourth year, paying tribute to outstanding projects in the Asia Pacific, for their architectural, technical and environmental features. Projects compete in eight different categories, Business Centres, Mixed-use Buildings, Shopping Centres, Hotels and Tourism Resorts, Residential Developments, Best Chinese Projects, Green Buildings and Futura Projects.

Over the last three years, the MIPIM Asia Awards have paid tribute to 24 outstanding projects.

"In a time of global economic uncertainty, it is important to be able to differentiate the quality, vision, and forward-thinking nature of one’s work. MIPIM Asia Awards serve to quantify and demonstrate achievement in real estate development, and the organization is known, in particular, for a special emphasis on innovation. This is a requirement for success and longevity in our industry and our ever-changing world," said AIG Managing Director Mr. Graeme Torre, who spoke on their experience as winners of two MIPIM Asia Awards in 2008 for The Sail @ Marina Bay project.

Last year, the Shanghai World Financial Centre received three MIPIM Asia Awards, both in the Best Chinese Project and Mixed-use Buildings categories, as well as the Participants Choice Award. Paul Katz, president of Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates PC and the project’s design architect, said, "Winning awards always helps our business development and public relations efforts, but MIPIM Asia Awards are of special significance because the MIPIM Asia audience represents past, present and future clients across a wide range of regions and markets, giving us the greatest return on our investment. 2009 was particularly successful, as we were honoured to receive three awards, resulting in even further recognition among our target audience."

The international MIPIM Asia Awards jury, which comprises top real estate professionals and is headed by Dr. Robert Lie, Real Estate Investment & Development Managing Director of Redevco Asia Limited in Hong Kong, will gather in September to choose the three finalists in every category.

Winners will be officially announced and rewarded at the MIPIM Asia Awards Ceremony, which will take place in Hong Kong on November 10, on the first day of MIPIM Asia 2010.
