International financial services company Citigroup plans to set up a China desk in Singapore aimed at encouraging Chinese firms with plans of global expansion to setup business in the country.
Citi said that the China desk will include ten relationship managers and product specialists, as well as bankers from its global transaction services and global subsidiaries group.
“With China being the third largest trading partner for Singapore, we are seeing a lot more Chinese companies using Singapore as a gateway to expand their business in the region,” said Michael Zink, the bank’s country officer for Singapore.
The China desk will provide financial solutions, including finance, securities, fund and trade services and cash management for Chinese customers.
