Property owners whose properties will be affected by the new North-South Expressway (NSE) can start submitting their compensation claims in December.
The majority of these owners are having their properties appraised ahead of the December meeting with the Singapore Land Authority (SLA).
Industry experts explained that a land plot’s value is based on its future use — in this case, as part of the 21.5 km long NSE — and not on its current use.
Works on the NSE are slated to start in 2013 and expected to be completed by 2020.
