Younger property buyers in Singapore are looking for alternative locations to purchase homes, with Johor emerging as a popular destination.
A report by The Sun Daily said the long waiting time for Singaporeans to get public housing units and the high prices of properties in the secondary market are the main reasons why they are shifting to Johor.
With prices of properties in Singapore continuing to rise, Johor offers young Singaporeans a lower cost of living as well as affordable homes.
“The government is working to provide more properties for young people, but we will only see the effect in several years’ time,” said Jeff Foo, Past President of Institute of Estate Agents, Singapore.
