The Singapore government has reassigned two senior officials to the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City Investment and Development Co Ltd (SSTEC).

Tang Wai Yee, the former JTC Corporation Director, will assume the position of Deputy CEO at SSTEC and will be responsible for physical planning and building development.

Chua Kay Chuan, Group Director (China) from IE Singapore, will also join SSTEC as Deputy CEO. He will be in-charge of strategic planning, economic promotion, business development and marketing.

Both officials are part of the “Suzhou Alumni,” who had extensive experience in the joint flagship project Suzhou Industrial Park.

Mr. Chua previously worked in different capacities in China, such as leading EDB’s office at the China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park. He also served in the Commercial Section at the Singapore Embassy in Beijing and worked in Dalian as Regional Director for IE Singapore’s operations in China.

Mr. Chua will occupy the position left by Ng Ooi Hooi, who will return to Keppel Land.

Meanwhile, Ms. Tang has almost 30 years of experience in both the private and public sectors. She served as the Director of Manpower Development division in the former Construction Industry Development Board of Singapore (now the Building and Construction Authority).

She was also the Senior General Manager (residential development) and simultaneously board secretary at the China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park. Her main projects at JTC Corp included developing the CleanTech Park.

Ms. Tang will take over from Lim Chin Chong, who was also seconded from JTC.

Ho Tong Yen, SSTEC Chief Executive, noted that the reassignment “reflects the strong support by Singapore government agencies for the Eco-City project.”

“Both deputy CEOs are members of the ‘Suzhou Alumni’ and bring with them years of experience in their respective fields,” he added.
