Savills hires new research head

International real estate advisor Savills has strengthened its Research & Consultancy team with the appointment of Alan Cheong as its new Head of Research & Consultancy for Singapore.

“I’m delighted to welcome Alan to our team,” said Mr. Chris Marriott, Chief Executive of Savills for Southeast Asia. “He is an excellent addition to our Research & Consultancy team.”

Mr. Marriott noted that with Mr. Cheong’s broad experience in real estate and risk management, he will be able to add considerable value to the company’s clients.

“Alan’s addition to the team will not be the last as we continue our push and build-up our core strengths in this important regional market.”

Mr. Cheong, who has over 20 years of experience in fields such as research, risk management and corporate and investment banking, started his career as a researcher for the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA). He specialised in the supply side of the econometric and time series forecasting of major real estate sectors. He subsequently went to UOB as a real estate corporate banker and worked with several financial institutions as a senior regional property and infrastructure analyst.

Mr. Cheong graduated from the National University of Singapore with a BSc (Estate Management) and also has a BSc (Mathematics) from the Open University (UK).
