Wee Hur Construction secures S$109m HDB contract

Wee Hur Construction Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wee Hur Holdings, has clinched a S$109 million contract from the Housing and Development Board (HDB) for the construction of Vista Spring @ Yishun in Yishun Neighbourhood 4.

This comes after the company secured another contract in January, a S$65 million building works contract from the HDB for a development project in Jurong West Neighbourhood 2.

Wee Hur’s latest contract covers the construction of eight residential blocks, a multi-storey car park, landscaping works, an electrical substation and minor sewer services. The project will comprise a total of 696 residential units.

“With HDB planning to build more flats, we will continue to tender for more public housing construction projects,” said Goh Yeow Lian, Wee Hur’s Executive Chairman.

Mr. Lee revealed that Wee Hur’s decisions to bid for projects will be determined by the assessment of its prospects, as well as by the “opportunities presented by the HDB”.

He noted that the values of residential projects are typically based on the number of housing units; a project of about 600 to 800 housing units is usually valued at around S$120 million.
