PropertyGuru, Asia Pacific’s leading property portal group, announced record results for the first half of 2011, with site traffic rising 85 percent to more than 4 million visitors viewing 50 million pages.
Likewise, revenue climbed 70 percent compared with H1 2010, while paying agent members climbed 30 percent to hit more than 14,500 by end-June.
“We’ve had an incredible first half. Revenue, traffic and agents all continued to grow rapidly in each country and ahead of expectations,” said Steve Melhuish, Group CEO of PropertyGuru.
Since January, PropertyGuru has brought its presence to eight Asian countries, either directly or through partnerships, including the acquisitions of Thailand’s www.DDProperty.com, North Malaysia’s www.FullHouse.com.my and Indonesia’s www.Rumah.com — all property related sites.
In Singapore, PropertyGuru stretched its lead in the first half of this year, with www.PropertyGuru.com.sg becoming the 14th largest website and the second largest domestic website, as stated in an Alexa.com report. It was also recognised as the “#1 website in the property industry category” by Hitwise last month.
In Malaysia, www.HomeGuru.com.my site traffic has tripled over the past six months. The company also kicked off a multi-million dollar publicity drive in Q1, placing advertisements on taxis and buses in KL and Penang, as well as having front page adverts in the Malay Mail newspaper.
“We continue to invest heavily in innovation to provide the best possible experience for our clients. I’d like to thank our ‘gurus’ for their unwavering dedication and hard work, as well as our clients for their continued great support. We are excited about the rest of 2011,” said Melhuish.
