CapitaLand, Southeast Asia’s largest property developer, has been named the Asia Pacific Green Builder of the Year at the first 2011 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Green Excellence Awards.
The awards showcase the best practices in “green” excellence and innovation across various industries, including companies from Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and Southeast Asia in the Asia Pacific region. CapitaLand was the only Singapore based property company to receive this award.
“We are honoured to be conferred the inaugural Green Builder of the Year award. CapitaLand is committed to playing its part as an environmentally-sustainable real estate developer and aims to be at the forefront of the industry in terms of green buildings and environmental protection,” said Liew Mun Leong, President and Chief Executive of CapitaLand Group.
The company emerged on top among five property developers from the region in the Builder of the Year category. The criteria for assessment was based on the green concept and environmental sustainability practice implementation, growth strategy excellence, the degree of innovation in the company’s products and technologies and the number of certified green buildings owned.
CapitaLand’s green efforts are part of its commitment to corporate and environmental sustainability. This latest award adds to the company’s slate of regional and local sustainability accolades, including 10 awards at the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Awards this year.
