12 Jul 2011

The Singapore Business Federation (SBF) awarded nine companies with the Singapore Sustainability Award for their green efforts on 11 July.

JTC Corporation, Sembcorp Industries and DHL won the enterprise sustainable business award, while Greenpac, Rigel Technology and Siloso Beach Resort were awarded in the SME category.

Meanwhile, eBus Media Networks, National Library Board (NLB) and Tak System Integration bagged the awards for green IT adoption.

Minister of State for Trade and Industry Teo Ser Luck noted that the number and quality of entries revealed the emphasis of Singaporean firms on sustainability.

He noted SBF’s drive to promote sustainability, such as the local listing of sustainable products and services and the alliance with various government agencies, business chambers, non-government organisations and academic institutions.

The alliance is expected to facilitate knowledge sharing of business and technology practices.

The Singapore Sustainability Awards is divided into the green IT adoption and recognising sustainable business practices categories. Of the 69 nominees, only nine companies were chosen.
