PropNex staff to shave Hair for Hope

1 Aug 2011

To raise funds for the Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF), PropNex Realty’s Chief Executive Mohamed Ismail, together with more than 30 staff and salespeople, will have their heads shaved on 2 August.

As one of the country’s leading real estate agencies, the company is pledging S$100 for each male participant and S$500 for each female participant. Currently, the firm has already raised S$30,000, with the volunteers appealing to friends, families, colleagues and even clients to support the drive.

“One of our core values is to be a socially responsible corporate citizen and we are conscientiously continuing our efforts in contributing to the community,” said Ismail.

“This is truly a meaningful event and it is heart warming to see the staff rallying behind the Hair for Hope (HfH) initiative. We aim to help CCF increase awareness of cancer and improve the lives of children with cancer and their families.”

Constance See, a cancer survivor and one of the female PropNex Agent volunteer shavees, commented, “The treatment of cancer, especially chemotherapy, causes hair loss and I can fully relate to what the children are going through. The symbolic act of shaving our hair shows our understanding of the ordeals of the child. My children and husband are giving me all the moral support.”

CCF aims to improve the quality of the lives of children cancer patients and their families by enhancing their social, emotional and medical welfare. The non-profit organisation has assisted more than 1,980 children and their families. Founded in 2003, Hope for Hair (HfH) was established to raise public awareness of childhood cancer and to raise funds through donations.

PropNex has actively sponsored other local charities and is also the Leading Enterprise Sponsor of the Singapore Children’s Society. Recently, its sales personnel and staff helped fund the construction of school facilities at Kampal Village in Cambodia.
