The Building and Construction Authority of Singapore (BCA) will hold the second International Green Building Conference (IGBC) at the Suntec City Convention Centre from 13 to16 September 2011.
Over 1,000 participants are expected to attend, including industry professionals and developers, as well as international government officials. The participants will jointly address challenges in the industry, exploring new green building technologies and solutions for the sub-tropics and tropics.
“We all know that there is a critical and urgent need to build green and retrofit existing buildings into more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly living spaces,” said Dr. John Keung, Chief Executive of BCA.
“For this very reason the intention behind organising IGBC was to enable industry practitioners to take action, not just sometime in the future, but now.”
On the first day of the conference, participants can take part in Green Mark eco-tours of Singapore’s premier building projects, which include residential, commercial, infrastructure and office projects.
The BCA is collaborating with local and international groups such as the Singapore Green Building Council, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the China Green Building Council and the United National Environment Programme, to organise six different symposiums for the conference.
