In a move to provide consumers with better access to services and information, the Council for Estate Agencies (CEA) has unveiled CEA@SG, the mobile version of its online Public Register of Estate Agents and Salespersons.
AsiaOne reported that CEA’s very first application for iOS and Android devices can be downloaded for free from Google Play and Apple App Store. The new service will allow consumers to make more informed decisions when engaging estate agents and salespersons, CEA said.
With the app, consumers can search for particular information regarding a property agent or salesperson, including their disciplinary record, just by inputting their name, mobile or registration number. The app also highlights any awards given by CEA to property agents or salespersons.
Over the coming months, other resources such as a consumer guide will be added to the app.
In other news, an unregistered salesperson was caught trying to impersonate a registered agent. Fortunately, the clients noticed that the person’s face and picture which appears in CEA’s Public Register record was different.
As such, CEA encourages the public to be vigilant when engaging agents and make sure they are registered.
