EXCLUSIVE: Popular London property developer Ballymore has postponed a planned property showcase in Bangkok because of better-than-expected sales in Singapore.
A total of 28 units at the Embassy Gardens project (pictured) were snapped up by property buyers and investors in the city-state last weekend, and with only 30 units forming part of the latest Southeast Asia release, the developer and its sole sales agent, Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), have opted to postpone the planned sales event in the Thai capital slated for later this month.
Doris Tan, Director International Property Services (Singapore) for JLL, told DDproperty.com: “The developer has decided to freeze sales due to a shortage of available units.”
She added that Ballymore also sold 65 units in London over the same weekend.
London property has been popular throughout Southeast Asia during 2012. Significant levels of sales have been reported in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, while Bangkok and Jakarta have also seen an increase in the number of U.K. property exhibitions.
