Rebounding from a slump due to the Hungry Ghost Festival, new private home sales shot up last month with 2,621 units sold, 84 percent higher than the 1,421 recorded in August, according to data from the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA).
The sales volume is also 61 percent more than during the same period in 2011 when 1,631 homes were sold.
Including executive condominiums (ECs), sales jumped by 80 percent month-on-month to reach 2,771 units.
Meanwhile, property developers launched 2,224 new homes last month, almost 100 percent more than the 1,118 seen in August.
New private home sales (including ECs) surpassed 21,000 units in the first three quarters of this year, compared to a total of 19,306 for the whole of 2011.
Four developments sold more than 100 units, with the most popular new project being eCO in Bedok. Launched last month, it saw record sales of 402 units in September at a median price of $1,283 psf.
Other projects which saw strong interest include Kovan Regency, Riversails and Foresque Residences, which sold 369, 203 and 104 units respectively.
