Martin No.38 (pictured), a loft-inspired development by luxury developer SC Global Developments, was awarded the highest honour of “Best Housing Project” for Completed Developments at the World Architecture Festival held at Marina Bay Sands Singapore.

In its fifth year, the World Architecture Festival recognises architectural excellence of projects globally. Martin No.38 beat more than 15 other residential developments, four of which came from Singapore.

Designed by Kerry Hill Architects, the project features urban architecture and draws inspiration from the warehouse lofts in New York City.

“Martin No.38’s planning stems from its location and climactic concerns in a disciplined, simple and logical way. Its materials are simple yet refined, and seamlessly integrate,” said the judges.

Back in June, the development also bagged the top Design Award in the residential category (apartments and condominiums) and ‘Building of the Year Award’ at the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) Architectural Design Awards 2012.

Simon Cheong, Chairman and CEO of SC Global, said: “The various awards conferred on Martin No.38 are further testament to our relentless commitment to creating original lifestyle concepts for our clients.”

“We constantly challenge ourselves to innovate and further improve quality and design – a philosophy that is reflected in our tagline ‘Own the Original’. Our developments have often been referred to as collectibles, each an original in its own right, and hand-crafted to ensure the finest quality.”
