PropertyGuru ranked world's 8th most dominant property portal

4 Apr 2012

Property portal PropertyGuru saw an overwhelming influx of online traffic over the last year, recording a 168 percent growth in visits and a record eight million visitors in February, compared to 2.5 million over the same period last year.

Additionally, the group has seen a notable increase in members, page views and online leads generated for advertisers.

The growth is attributed mainly to its increased market share across its four core markets, commercial property demand and the growing importance of editorial and mobile traffic.

Consequently, PropertyGuru has emerged as the eighth most dominant property portal in the world, as published on PropertyPortalWatch on 7 March. More than eight percent of Singaporeans are using the website monthly, which makes it the only Asian-based website among the top 10.

Moreover, PropertyGuru.com.sg and CommercialGuru.com.sg have accounted for 49.2 percent of all property-related page views from Singapore, according to Hitwise, a third party audited online research service by Experian.

Alexa.com ranks PropertyGuru.com.sg as the 15th largest Singapore website, as well as the second largest domestic website (behind DBS.com).

Meanwhile, CommercialGuru rose from seventh to third place as the most popular property website in Singapore, accounting for almost five percent of all property-related internet page views in February 2012.

In line with its aim to offer easier access to PropertyGuru’s websites even while on the go, the company has embarked on the development of consumer and agent mobile applications for Blackberry, Apple and Android devices across four countries.
