8 Riversuites (pictured), a new condo development in Whampoa East was officially launched last Saturday by its developer United Engineers Limited. More than 200 units had already been sold during a private preview held earlier this month.

Designed by Japanese architect Miyake Masaki, it comprises of 843 apartments ranging from one- to four-bedders spread across four towers as well as 19 strata-terraces. The project has been certified under the Active, Beautiful, Clean Waters programme by the Public Utilities Board (PUB) and was awarded the BCA Green Mark Gold award in recognition of its use of energy efficient materials and systems.

“8 Riversuites offers residents the best of both worlds: contemporary city living set in an area steeped in history,” said Jackson Yap, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of United Engineers.

“While providing all the conveniences of a city fringe location, 8 Riversuites is a sanctuary for the residents, with its nature-themed design, and views of the Sungei Whampoa.”

According to a media report, the average price for the project was S$1,400 psf after buyers received a five-percent early-bird discount from the developer. One-bedders of around 450 sq ft cost approximately S$600,000 while a two-bedder of approximately 700 sq ft costs around S$900,000.

The 99-year leasehold project is strategically located at the city fringe and offers panoramic views of the city skyline including the Singapore Flyer, Marina Bay and the CBD. It is just a five-minute walk from Boon Keng MRT station as well as to the upcoming Bendemeer MRT station.

“We have designed this development with the environment in mind – to provide a quality environment for the residents, as well as to minimise the impact on the surrounding environment,” said Yap.

The project is slated for completion in Q1 2016.
