Kevin Wong, the Chief Executive of Keppel Land, will be leaving his post on 31 December 2012 to pursue personal interests. He will be succeeded by Ang Wee Gee (pictured), the current Executive Vice Chairman of Keppel Land China Ltd.
“On behalf of the Board of Keppel Land, I thank Kevin for his commitment and contributions over two decades of service, which have seen Keppel Land develop a strong reputation for quality and integrity,” said Choo Chiau Beng, Chief Executive of Keppel Corporation Limited and Chairman of Keppel Land.
“We wish him the very best as he sets off to pursue his own interests.”
Wong, who has been in the company for 23 years, held the position of CEO for 12 years. With succession planning well implemented, Wong said it is time “to reflect on my priority in life and start to pursue endeavours and interests that I have never had time for”.
Meanwhile, Ang joined the company in 1991. He was appointed Executive Director of Keppel Land International Limited and Chief Executive Officer, International, in 2008. Prior to this role, he held various positions in Keppel Land Group, including Assistant General Manager for Singapore and Country Head for Vietnam. He later assumed the position of Director, Regional Investments for Keppel Land International Ltd, overseeing the firm’s foreign business operations.
“With our succession planning in place, Wee Gee, who has been in the Company for 21 years, will be promoted as CEO,” said Choo.
“Wee Gee has been responsible for the Company’s regional expansion and more recently, the sharpening of Keppel Land’s focus in the important market of China. I am confident that Wee Gee, with his extensive experience and in-depth understanding of our strengths, will bring Keppel Land to the next level and continue to be a vital part of the Keppel Group.”
