PropertyGuru scores record growth in first half

PropertyGuru, Asia’s leading property portal group, achieved a 62 percent growth in business leads generation for its clients and partners in 1H2012.

The strong growth benefits the company’s over 21,000 paying real estate agents and developer advertisers, which also grew by 45 percent compared to the same period last year.

The good results were mainly attributed to sharp spikes in website traffic across PropertyGuru’s core markets, led by Indonesia and Malaysia which saw a 62 and 50 percent increase in total website visits respectively. Singapore and Thailand also doubled their growth for website visits and page views.

Commenting on the healthy figures, Steve Melhuish, CEO of PropertyGuru Group (pictured), said: “Following a strong start to the year, we have exceeded expectations by maintaining stellar growth in traffic and leads for our advertisers.”

“These are clear testaments of our goal of strengthening the company’s regional presence by increasing market leadership position in Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand as well as close the gap with our competitors in Malaysia,” he added.

Melhuish also emphasised the importance of heavy investment in creating more value-added products and services slated for release.

“Innovation is, and will continue to be, a large portion of our business focus. As the profile of our clients evolves to become more digitally savvy, it is definitely a logical step forward to aim at staying ahead of the competition by keeping abreast of the latest developments and trends to drive further success.”
