A waterfront home at Biscayne Bay, Miami was sold for a whopping US$47 million (S$59 million), setting a new record for the luxury market in Miami Beach (pictured).
The 30,000 sq ft property on Indian Creek Island was sold by the builders and owners – Shlomi Alexander and Felix Cohen, said listing agent Coldwell Banker who declined to name the buyer.
According to Miami-Dade property records, the contemporary stone and glass house was completed last year and features limestone walls and indoor reflecting pools.
In addition to the 10 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms, the home has a 3D theatre, full spa pavilion, 100-foot resort style pool and cabana as well as glass-enclosed waterfront gym, Coldwell Banker said.
But its title as the most expensive residential address could soon be contested as another property is being sold at a much higher price.
The iconic Casa Casuarina mansion on South Beach, once owned by Italian designer Gianni Versace, is back on the market for US$125 million (S$155.6 million).
