2nd most expensive US home sold

28 Jan 2013

A northern Californian estate could be the second most expensive property sold in the US. Public records revealed that its previous owner, financier Tully Friedman, sold the US$117.5 million (S$145.22 million) property on 27 November 2012, according to media reports.

Designed by architect Allan Greenberg, the four-bedroom property (pictured) was built in 2005 on a nine acre site and offers a 360-degree view of the Woodside Mountains.

The sale surpasses the US$100 million (S$123.6 million) selling price of a nearby estate bought by Russian entrepreneur and venture capitalist Yuri Milner in 2011.

To date, a ranch in Montana is likely the most expensive property sold in the US. Listed for US$132 million (S$163.1 million), it was sold last year for an undisclosed sum to billionaire Stanley Kroenke, owner of the NHL’s Colorado Avalanche, NBA’s Denver Nuggets and NFL’s St. Louis Rams.
