Conversion of derelict garage into modern London homes

A once derelict garage in Westbourne Grove, West London is set to be converted into ultra-modern living spaces, as property developer Oakvest plans to build two luxury homes on the compact site.

At 4,500 sq ft each, both properties will comprise four floors with four double-bedroom suites, a living room, as well as an open plan kitchen and diner. There will also be a cinema, gym and swimming pool.

Oakvest will work with design firm Medici on the project. The properties have been designed to incorporate the latest gadgetry expected of a modern home and are to be fully automated, which means they can be controlled by the touch of a button from anywhere in the world.

This technology includes the ability to control the air-conditioning, under-floor heating, power consumption, windows, blinds, lighting, security and audio visual.

“Fully aware that the Westbourne Grove area was very much up and coming, we have been looking for some time for a hidden gem or prime site suitable for redevelopment. The area has gone through a massive regeneration over the past few years and it is superb that we at Oakvest can apply our luxury development expertise to such a project,” said Mark Holyoke, founder of Oakvest.

The Westbourne Grove area is in the midst of a property boom, with prices increasing by over 12 percent in the last one year and 28 percent since 2008, according to UK property search portal Zoopla.

Moreover, there is a wide variety of amenities such as shops, restaurants and educational institutions within the vicinity.
