In a bid to raise awareness in the local community about the benefits of de-cluttering and getting organised, the Singapore National Organising Week (SNOW) will once again be taking place from 2-7 September 2013.
The annual campaign started in 2007 by the Australasian Association of Professional Organisers (AAPO), will also serve as a platform to introduce professional services and affiliated product providers to help do the job.
AAPO statistics show that the average person spends over an hour daily looking for things. That translates into two weeks every year. So, by age 50 you could have spent over a year of your life searching for misplaced items and information, the association added.
The highlight of this year’s campaign is a Facebook competition to win prizes including an organising makeover, specialist organising products and storage space to make room to de-clutter.
“SNOW is the Professional Organising industry’s way of giving back to our communities and showing people how simple it can be to improve your world by getting organised,” said local event organiser, Georgina Wong, CEO of Asian Professional Organisers.
Professional organising ranges from residential space management to corporate productivity and from digital organising to wardrobe auditing.
Wong estimates that the popularity of professional organising in time- and space-strapped Singapore has doubled since last year’s campaign.
