Developer refutes 'building has no lift' claim

23 Aug 2013

A building in Spain has made the news after it was reported its design does not include elevators.

Located in the coastal city of Benidorm, the Edificio Intempo (pictured) is 200m high and is set to become the tallest housing project in Europe.

“We are constructing the highest residential skyscraper in Europe so how is it possible to build without elevators?” said the project’s sales manager Rafael Ballesta, who slammed the reports as “fake and insidious” as well as “ridiculous”.

The story first appeared in a Spanish paper and quickly spread globally.

Turning to Twitter to back up its side, the developer posted the building’s floor plans which showed elevator shafts.
