Global hotelier Millennium & Copthorne Hotels (M&C) has launched its first M Hotel branch in Chengdu over the weekend, as a strategy to strengthen its presence in China.

M Hotel Chengdu is the group’s second hotel under the M Brand and the first M hotel outside Singapore.

M&C Chairman, Mr Kwek Leng Beng said: “Singapore has fostered a strong relationship with China by helping Singapore companies invest and do business in China. We are happy to be part of this mutually beneficial partnership.”

Banking on a new generation of travellers, the M brand caters to the young and young at heart through room layouts, IT connectivity and amenities.

The hotel offers 196 rooms with sizes ranging between 35 sq m for Superior and 235 sq m for Presidential Suite. Each room comes with a separate working area. Facilities include a gym, a library, children’s play area, indoor pool, and a billiard room. The hotel also features two conference rooms.

Notably, M Hotel Chengdu is currently the city’s only “smoke-free” hotel.

To date, M&C has 12 properties in the Greater China region, including Millennium Vee Hotel Taichung in Taiwan.
