Big turnout at Forestville seminar

17 Sep 2013

A large crowd attended PropertyGuru’s latest consumer seminar held at the Forestville showflat last Saturday afternoon (14 September).

Over 120 prospective buyers, the majority of whom were young couples and HDB upgraders, participated in the two-hour event.

PropertyGuru’s
Head of Research & Analytics Keith Cheong, one of the expert speakers, said: “Executive condos (ECs) have been popularly received by first-timers and HDB upgraders since its re-launch in 2010. The unique lifecycle of ECs also elevates property values in its 10-year journey towards privatisation.”

In addition to Cheong, the seminar also featured two other prominent speakers – Thomas Tan, Principal Trainer at Real Centre Network and PropNex KEO Lim Yong Hock.

Developed by Hao Yuan Investment, the 99-year leasehold Forestville comprises 653 EC units spread across 14 blocks. There is a mix of housing types, from two- to five-bedroom apartments, penthouses, as well as dual key and loft units. Facilities include a tennis court, jogging track and 50-metre lap pool.

Meanwhile, with the recent cooling measures, including the Total Debt Servicing Ratio (TDSR) framework, home buying demand is expected to shift to the EC segment. According to earlier reports, there is likely to be consistently strong interest for both existing and new projects.

“The EC supply cap that would see no ECs launched till August 2014, arising from the 15-month waiting period imposed on developers of such projects, presents a good opportunity for eligible buyers to take action during this window period,” Cheong added.

Going forward, PropertyGuru will hold its next consumer seminar on 19 October at the Eight Riversuites showflat near Boon Keng MRT station.
