A residential site at Lorong Puntong near Upper Thomson Road has been awarded to China-based Nanshan Group, after the developer submitted the top bid of $173.6 million for the 10,502.8 sqm plot.

The 99-year leasehold site was hotly contested, attracting a total of 18 bidders when the tender closed on 8 October.

The land parcel could be developed into a private housing project with a maximum gross floor area (GFA) of 22,056 sqm.

According to the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), the site is close to several schools, Thomson Plaza and Bishan Park.

It is also well-connected via major roads and the CTE, and is near the future Bright Hill MRT station on the Thomson Line.
