Landstar Development and Infinite Studios have unveiled The Scene (pictured), a unique movie-themed holiday resort in the coastal area of Nongsa in Batam, Indonesia.

Touted as Asia’s first liveable and filmable resort, the development comprises 295 low-rise condotels. Buyers can choose from studios, one to two-bedroom suites and apartments as well as 50 retail units. Both condotels and retail units are priced from $200,000.

The project will have a lobby lounge, shopping streets, alfresco café, 24-hr dining options, wedding chapel, and MICE rooms, along with a fitness and wellness centre.

The resort will be built over four phases, with full completion targeted by December 2018. Phase 1 is expected to be launched on 8 November 2014, consisting of 109 condotels and retail units. Its Temporary Occupation Permit (TOP) will likely be received by March 2017.

Infinite Studios CEO Mike Wiluan said, “Its close proximity to Singapore, excellent transport links, and first-rate architecture and hotel facilities, make The Scene destined to become a new iconic landmark,” he added.

Developers guarantee net yield of five per cent per annum for five years and currency risk-free with sales and yield in Singapore dollars.

“Batam is the fastest growing city in Indonesia and has become increasingly attractive to investors due to its pro-business Free Trade Zone,” noted Landstar Development Chairman Djaja Roeslim.
