CDL tops out South Tower

Mixed-development South Beach witnessed the “topping out” of its 45-storey South Tower yesterday, according to media reports.

Situated along Beach Road, South Beach (pictured) is jointly developed by City Developments Limited (CDL) and Malaysia’s IOI Group, and is expected to be completed by end-2015.

Notably, a CDL-led consortium acquired the site in 2007 after winning the government’s “two-envelope” tender system.

The taller of the two towers, the South Tower features 190 luxury apartments, retail space of around 85,000 sq ft and a 654-room luxury hotel that is scheduled for soft opening in April 2015.

The North Tower, on the other hand, will have 500,000 sq ft of top grade office space. It was “topped out” earlier this year and is expected to obtain the Temporary Occupation Permit later this month. The first tenant is set to commence business in Q1 2015.
