The world’s largest chemical company, BASF launched the BASF Learning Campus (Singapore) at Rochester 20 yesterday.

The $10 million facility (pictured) is located in three heritage houses with a total of 6,300 sq m of indoor and outdoor space, and will offer regional and global leadership and business-related programmes to BASF employees across Asia Pacific.

“BASF decided on Singapore as the location for the Learning Campus in Asia Pacific as it is a global leader in talent and leadership development. As an essential business hub for Asia Pacific, Singapore allows us to connect our learning activities with close customer interaction,” said Dr Martin Brudermueller, Vice Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of BASF.

Rochester 20 is part of LINK@One-North. The LINK (Leadership Initiatives, Networks, Knowledge) ecosystem aims to bring together the supply-side players such as the business schools, human capital consultancies and think-tanks to support the leadership training and development needs of companies.

At the opening ceremony of the BASF Learning Campus (Singapore), Senior Minister of State Lee Yi Shyan said, “Today we mark the opening of the next phase of LINK@one-north’s development, with the launch of BASF’s Learning Campus as the first tenant of Rochester 20. BASF’s Learning Campus will add to the vibrancy of our Biopolis and Fusionopolis research hubs within the larger one-north development, as well as to the work of existing corporate universities here.”
