Those looking to buy or lease a property can now access URA’s online database for free, said National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan.
In a blog post, the Minister revealed that URA has launched a new map-based application that will allow users to retrieve detailed records about a specific property.
Users only need to click on a building or type in an address to see relevant decisions on any new building erection, addition and alteration of structures, change of use, and land or building subdivision.
Mr Khaw noted that in the past, retrieving information from the database had to be done manually and could be quite cumbersome. Last year, there were more than 20,000 searches.
Previously, users also had to pay a $30 processing fee to download the records.
URA will continue to tap on technology to make information more accessible to the market, and intends to do the same for enquiries on Development Charge rates, soon.
