UK healthcare investment in the spotlight

21 Feb 2014

What is believed to be the first overseas nursing home property investment exhibition in Singapore is set to take place this weekend.

Willowfield Nursing Home in Maidenhead, Berkshire, in the U.K. is being showcased by Singapore real estate agency Trillion Property. The investment opportunity will, the company said, provide both rental returns and a clear exit strategy.

Troy Ng, Marketing Director for Trillion Property, told PropertyGuru: “Many countries are facing an increasingly aging population with rising demands for quality elderly care. In the UK, the nursing and care home industry has been prevalent for many years, but and it is only in recent years that investors are venturing into this market as an alternative to residential projects.

“A Willowfield Nursing Home investment is relatively hassle-free with a clear entry and exit strategy. Investors need not worry about furnishings, occupancy or management, as all these will be taken care of by the operator. In addition, investors can opt for a three-, five- or 10-year investment plan with attractive returns. I think such flexibility will definitely draw crowds.”

More Singapore property investors have been looking at alternatives to traditional residential investments over the past two years. Investments in healthcare opportunities, whilst fairly common in other parts of the world, have not been previously offered to Singapore property investors at exhibitions in the city-state.

The Singapore overseas property exhibition for Willowfield Nursing Home takes place this weekend (February 22/23) between 10am and 6pm and Orchard Hotel, Level 3.
