More than 20 individual overseas property exhibitions are taking
place in Singapore this weekend, the highest number this year,
highlighting how local investors are still looking overseas to avoid the
uncertain direction of the local property market.
The United
Kingdom and Australia are the most popular destinations this weekend,
with three major London projects being showcased along with seven
Australian developments – mostly focused on Melbourne.
Malaysia,
Thailand, Tokyo, the Philippines, Vietnam and the United States are also
being showcased to potential buyers and investors from the city-state.
One
interesting trend that has developed within the past few months is the
move towards overseas commercial property investments, especially from
the U.K. where hotel and office investment opportunities have started to
appear at exhibitions.
