Far East Square and AMOY have jointly been nominated as a finalist for this year’s ULI Global Awards for Excellence.
The mixed-use heritage conservation project at Telok Ayer Street by Far East Organization preserves and renovates old shophouses into modern retail and entertainment outlets.
It is among 23 developments from around the world which have been selected as finalists. A jury will choose the winners from the list, and results will be announced in October.
“The 2014 Global Awards for Excellence finalists demonstrate high-quality, innovative land use and building design. In addition, many involve historic preservation, public-private partnerships, environmental sustainability, and creative financing,” said Jury Chair M. Leanne Lachman, President of real estate consulting firm Lachman Associates.
Located in Singapore’s Central Business District (CBD), Far East Square features a number of restaurants, cafes, shops, kiosks, as well as Singapore’s oldest temple, which has been restored as the Fuk Tak Chi Museum showcasing the lives of early immigrants.
AMOY is a boutique hotel situated within Far East Square, and draws its inspiration from the unique character of its location.
The ULI Global Awards for Excellence competition recognises real estate projects with a high standard of excellence in design, construction, economics, planning and management.
