Bangkok buyers look further afield

15 Jul 2014

DDproperty.comPropertyGuru‘s market-leading Thailand property portal – can exclusively reveal that Bangkok’s Thai
property buyers are searching further from the city for their ideal home
to buy or rent.

According to data captured in June from
Thailand’s number one website’s ‘search by transport station’ feature,
the most-searched stations on Thailand’s number one property portal were
Thong Lor and Ekkamai. These two stations alone accounted for more than
50 percent of all searches from property to buy, rent or sell.

Ranked
second were Pra Khanong and On Nut, while Bang Na and Bearing were the
third most-searched location on the website’s ‘search by station’
feature.

Ranked fourth were Saphan Kwai and Ari, considered by
many to be up-and-coming areas, while Krung Thongburi and Wong Wang Yai –
on the less favoured Thonburi side of Bangkok – were the fifth
most-searched locations by
station.

When it comes to English langugage searches on he bilingual DDproperty.com,
Thonglor came out as the most-searched location on the website’s
English language channel, again accounting for around half of all
searches for property to buy, rent or sell.

Asoke was ranked
second, with Ekkamai, On Nut and Udomsuk making up the top five
most-searched locations by English language users of DDproperty.com.

Commenting on the results, Napong Panthong, Head of Marketing for DDproperty.com,
said: “This fascinating data shows how buyers and renters are searching
for property in non-traditional locations, and certainly further from
the centre of the city than previously thought.”
