More Thai developers look overseas

Two more Thailand projects will attempt to tempt Singapore property buyers and investors this weekend, underlining a marked resurgence in confidence since the coup of late May which initially forced investors to adopt a wait-and-see stance.

Bangkok will be represented by Sansiri’s The Base Park East at Sukhumvit 77 (pictured), which will be showcased by Singapore real estate agency PropNex at an invitation-only event.

The 27-storey freehold condominium features 504 units with prices starting from S$86,000.

Cobby Leathers, Head of International Marketing, Sansiri PLC, recently told PropertyGuru.com: "Thailand continues to be an attractive market for both regional and international investors due to the kingdom’s number of unique selling points.

"Residential investment opportunities abound for buyers or investors and range from personal residences for vacation or living to capital appreciation properties and rental yield generating asset positions.

"The general outlook for the domestic Thai market has always been resilient, regardless of political and natural setbacks, and this opportune time is no different from the past.

The PropNex event for Sansiri’s The Base Park East will take pplace at HDB Hub on Saturday, July 19, and Sunday, July 20, between 12 noon and 6pm.

Elsewhere The Scene Condo, a freehold development of one- and two-bedroom apartments on the resort island of Phuket, will be in focus at Grand Hyatt Salon 6, Level 2, on Saturday, July 19, and Sunday, July 20, between 11am and 7pm.

The project, marketed by Singapore real estate agency DTZ, features two luxury resort-style apartments priced from S$120,000 and offer guaranteed returns of 8 percent, subject to conditions.

Earlier this week we reported that more than one year after first declaring that Chinese buyers were firmly in its sights, listed property developer SC Asset Corporation will hold its first property exhibition in Beijing this weekend where it will be showcasing its Centric-Rachada Huay Khwang project at an event in Beijing.
