Printworks in Singapore spotlight

11 Jul 2014

Galliard Homes, in conjunction with Singapore real estate agent JLL, will be showcasing its latest project to London property buyers and investors in the city-state this weekend.

The Printworks, at Clapham Road in London’s SW9, will be exhibited in Singapore at St Regis Hotel Senator Room from 11am until 7pm on Saturday, July 12, and Sunday, July 13.

The project in the London Borough of Lambeth is set within a conservation area and in a former impressive printworks. It will offer a mixture of studio and one-bedroom apartments on a 999-year leasehold basis from January 1, 1997.

Residents at Printworks will be within 10 minutes’ walk of Stockwell or Oval Tube. The catchment potential is described by the developer as being superb, with both the Northern and Victoria lines running regular services from Stockwell tube station just under 10-minute walk from the development.
Swift and efficient journey times see Victoria within seven minutes, heart of the West End in nine minutes and the City in 13 minutes.

It is only befitting that one of London’s most contemporary apartment schemes should now represent the pinnacle of prestige, furthering still a success story dating back to 1903 – when Sir Joseph Causton & Sons Ltd founded the Printworks on Clapham Road.

This followed in 1937 by Freemans & Co. who transformed the building into the largest mail order business in Great Britain. Turning the clock forward to the 21st Century, the site was acquired by Galliard Homes as a major regeneration opportunity.

Phase one was finished back in 2012 and consisted of 152 luxury apartments over three newly constructed buildings. In addition 18-executive 4-storey town houses were also built.

The first release of Phase Two will give buyers a  rare opportunity to purchase within the original Printworks building, offering 35 studio’s and one-bedroom warehouse apartments located on the first, second and third floors.

Prices for a 299 sq ft unit at The Printworks will start from £325,000.
