S'pore preview for Vancouver icon ahead of Canada launch in Sept

17 Jul 2014

Singapore property buyers and investors will get the pick of some of the best units at a Canadian project this weekend, when it holds a preview event in the city-state two months ahead of its global launch.

Iconic Vancouver House was approved by the Vancouver City Council in October 2013 and made global headlines due to its amazing architecture. Already classed as super prime real estate, the development is considered comparable to the best that New York, London, Tokyo, Monaco, Hong Kong and even Singapore has to offer.

When completed it will also be the third tallest tower in Vancouver, and each of the 388 units will be unique due to the creative use of architecture.

JM Loo, Associate Director for Business Development at SQFT Global Properties, said that many people in Singapore have not noticed the opportunity to invest in Vancouver.

She told PropertyGuru: “The vacancy rate is 1.7 percent, which is much lower than many cities, and renting out for investments is reasonably easy.

“In addition, rental yields are between 5 percent and 6 percent on average, with good capital appreciation. If you take into consideration this is super prime real estate it could be even more.”

For leading Canadian developer Westbank, the company behind Vancouver House, this is their first serious venture into the Singapore market.

Vancouver House will be launched under the Christies International Real Estate Singapore brand.

Prices for a one-bedroom unit will start from S$536,975 with bank financing of up to 65 percent available, subject to conditions. A selection of studio, one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom units will be available.

This weekend’s preview event in Singapore, ahead of the global launch on September 20, will take place at Four Seasons Hotel, Temasek Room Level 3, between 11am and 7pm on Saturday, July 19, and Sunday, July 20.
