The deadline to submit bids for an Executive Condominium (EC) site along Anchorvale Crescent in Sengkang East has been extended so that developers would have more time to study a new condition set by the Land Transport Authority (LTA), said media reports.
The tender was supposed to close next Tuesday but developers who have bought the tender documents can now submit their proposals until 20 January because the winning bidder would be required to build sheltered parking spaces that can accommodate at least 88 bicycles within the development.
“However, any provision above the minimum requirement shall be subject to evaluation… Bicycle parking area(s) that meet LTA’s requirements can be considered for GFA (gross floor area) exemption,” according to one of the tender conditions for the site.
After the plan for bicycle parking area(s) is approved, this space should be open to residents and cannot be redeveloped for other uses without prior approval from HDB.
In line with the government’s Land Transport Masterplan 2013 to create over 700 kilometres of bike paths across Singapore by 2030, all 26 HDB towns will eventually have a network of dedicated cycling paths.
Situated near the Cheng Lim LRT Station, the 1.75-ha site is estimated to yield about 525 residential units.
