The JTC LaunchPad @ one-north (LaunchPad) was launched on 23 January by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
Located in the heart of one-north, and comprising Blocks 71, 73 and 79, the LaunchPad will house around 500 start-ups and 35 incubators.
Block 71 currently houses infocomm and media start-ups and incubators, while Block 73 is a new three-storey modularised building to house newer start-ups and incubators that require smaller spaces.
Block 79 is a five-storey multi-tenanted facility for start-ups and incubators for bigger start-ups and incubators of approximately 100 and 450 sq m.
LaunchPad aims to seed the growth of start-ups in industries (such as science and engineering, biomedical, electronics, infocomm and media) by offering a range of facilities such as co-working, incubation and start-up space that can support the various stages of entrepreneurship from idea generation to starting-up.
Collaboration spaces, sports facilities, shared meeting rooms as well as eateries and amenities will also serve as natural gathering spaces in the cluster.
Speaking at the official opening of JTC LaunchPad @ one-north, Minister of State for Trade and Industry Teo Ser Luck said, “LaunchPad’s location in one-north also means that start-ups are in close proximity to a multi-disciplinary R&D community including knowledge-based companies, Institutes of Higher Learning and A*STAR research institutes. The presence of a diverse community and strong R&D network will intensify cross-disciplinary interactions and make LaunchPad a fertile ground for innovation.”
one-north is a 200-hectare business park which hosts a cluster of research facilities and business park space.
