Only 51 percent of Singaporeans are satisfied with affordability of housing in Singapore last year, according to the Blackbox Policy Satisfaction Index.
Its Government Satisfaction Scorecard shows that satisfaction on housing affordability remained unchanged throughout 2014.
It also ranks as one of the areas Singaporeans surveyed are least satisfied with, along with motor vehicle prices, and the cost of living.
In the report, Blackbox Research said, “The 2014 scorecard reveals the issue confronting the government heading into 2015. Its recent focus on social policies and helping those most vulnerable to growing income disparity has resulted in some puncturing of its economic credentials, especially amongst upper/middle income earners.”
Market research consultant Blackbox Research conducts 1,000 face-to-face interviews with Singapore residents, aged 15 and above, across the nation each month. The data is collected following a systematic random door-to-door methodology.
Each monthly sample composition mirrors the residential distribution across the island as well as additional demographic factors such as gender, age, household type and ethnicity.
