Toa Payoh ROH plans

The Housing and Development Board (HDB) is inviting residents of Toa Payoh, Woodlands and Pasir Ris to share their views on the Remaking Our Heartland (ROH) programme.

The three towns are the third batch to be rejuvenated under the ROH plans, with Punggol, Yishun and Dawson being the first to be selected to undergo ROH in 2007. East Coast, Hougang and Jurong Lake followed in 2011.

In a statement, HDB noted that “Toa Payoh Town Centre will be given a facelift, while more recreational spaces will be introduced on the Woodlands waterfront along the Straits of Johor.

“As for Pasir Ris, residents can expect exciting new developments at the Town Centre.”

HDB stated that gathering feedback at the initial stage of developing the ROH plans will provide a better understanding of the residents’ views of their towns and also get ideas on how to build a better living environment.

“Through these sessions, we hope to understand the identity of each town from the perspective of the residents, as well as find out which public spaces are important to them and how these places could be enhanced to promote interaction among residents,” explained the housing board.

Around 500 residents and stakeholders can sign up to participate in the focus group session by going to the ROH website at: http://bit.ly/1IYu2ek

The closing date for registration is 1 June 2015.
