Winterland Shanghai

Singapore-based KOP Properties is joining forces with two Chinese developers, Shanghai LuJiaZui and Shanghai Harbour City Development, to build a mega winter resort in Shanghai.

The Winterland project, which has a development cost of approximately RMB6 billion, is expected to become one of the world’s largest integrated indoor winter resorts, housing the longest ski trail in the world and biggest indoor Olympic-grade winter sports facility which can play host to winter sport competitions and ice sculpture shows.

Located in Lingang City, the 107,000 sqm site is close to other attractions such as the Shanghai Haichang Polar Ocean Park and the upcoming Shanghai Disney Resort.

Winterland will have a gross floor area of around 213,000 sqm, and will also consist of a ski-in ski-out resort, ice hotel, retail and F&B outlets, and several theatres.

Construction work is expected to start in early 2016. KOP plans to open the first phase of development by the end of 2018.
